Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a darkly thrilling musical by Stephen Sondheim that blends razor-sharp wit with chilling suspense. Set in Victorian London, it tells the tale of Sweeney Todd, a barber who returns from exile to seek vengeance against the corrupt judge who destroyed his life. With the help of the resourceful and twisted Mrs. Lovett—whose meat pies gain a gruesome new ingredient—Todd unleashes a tale of revenge, madness, and murder. Featuring a hauntingly beautiful score and unforgettable characters, Sweeney Todd is a macabre masterpiece that slices deep into the heart of justice, obsession, and morality.

Gavin J. Annette (Beadle Bamford) is honored to once again take to the boards of the Forst Inn stage to embody the role of an unsavory bastard, for that seems to be his bag these days. Sweeney Todd has been on Gavin's theatrical bucket list for as long as he learned the difference between stages right and left, and though of course he always thought he was destined for the role of Johanna, the Beadle is a close second favorite choice. You may have seen him involved in previous Forst Inn productions such as Throwing Stones At The Sun (The Murderer), Five Women Wearing The Same Dress (Tripp Davenport), Young Frankenstein (Igor), The Play That Goes Wrong (Chris/Inspector Carter), and even the Forst Inn's last Stephen Sondheim production, Into the Woods (The Baker).
|
He would to thank Michael and David for making this show possible, his cast for being an amazing group of artists and friends to work with and share this experience, and his fiancé Jonathan for his love and support and many comfort meals on post-rehearsal late nights when all Gavin had to eat that day were a couple of Roller Bites from Kwik Trip before schlepping straight from work to the Inn. And to our lovely audience -- thank you for your continued support for all these years, it really means the world to us! So strap in and enjoy the show!

Maddie Budner (Ensemble) is thrilled to be back on stage at the Forst Inn after appearing in last year’s production of Young Frankenstein and is excited to be a part of this amazing production! Recent credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), Elf (Jovie), The Fantasticks (Luisa), Disenchanted (Sleeping Beauty), Ordinary Days (Deb), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), The Little Mermaid (Ariel), Joseph…Dreamcoat (Narrator). Maddie recently originated the role of Rose in the (virtual) North American debut of the new musical Off The Beaten Path. She thanks her family, friends, mentors, mom, and dad for their ongoing love and support.

Emilee E Carroll (Beggar Woman) is thrilled to be participating in another show by her favorite composer, the late great Stephen Sondheim. She’s truly enjoyed the depth of this role and how it’s taught her to really take a second look at those around you - all is not as it may seem. Previous Forst Inn roles include Vera in “And Then There Were None”, Frau Blucher in “Young Frankenstein” and Annie Wilkes in “Misery”, among others. Much love to an amazing cast and crew, her second family at the Inn, her supportive family and her incredible husband Brandon who has been her rock through it all. Get ready to pull back the curtain and attend the tale of Sweeney Todd!

Isabella Dippel (Johanna) is no stranger to underestimated ingénues, with a resume including Lucy Westenra (Dracula), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), and Cosette (Les Misérables), and the opportunity to dive into every intricacy of this one is a dream come true. With the Forst Inn, she’s played piano in the pit of 2025’s Swing! the Musical, provided original music and the voice of Hecate for 2023’s Macbeth, and played Helena in 2022’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Isabella holds a BMA in Lyric Theatre from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is a lifelong Sondheim fan who’s thrilled to bring this stunning story and music to life.
|
Special thanks to the wonderful cast, crew, and cats who have made the attendance of this tale truly unforgettable! Enjoy the show-and, to every young person who has found themselves trapped, may you have the chance to fly and sing.

Ross Dippel (Ensemble) is thrilled to again be haunting Fleet Street, this time at The Forst Inn. Having played Judge Turpin 35 years ago at the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, this production has instilled in him a deep respect for the Sondheim chorus.
He offers his gratitude to Michael, David, the killer cast, pit and crew, the brilliant Forst Inn Board of Directors, donors, volunteers and you, the audience, without whom we would not be here. A special thank you to his wife Christine for her unending support and to his daughter Isabella who is wonder and joy. To those UWL theatre alumni who made the trip, the tellers grow and change but the tale remains the same. |

Zachary Eric Glaeser (Adolfo Pirelli) - is elated to return to the Forst Inn stage as the “king of the barbers, the barber of kings!” Zachary is delighted to bring the flamboyant rival of Fleet Street to life in one of his favorite musicals, Sweeney Todd. A lover of musicals and opera, Zachary is excited to be able to perform in a role that is as close as you can get to opera without getting your eyes wet.
When he is not performing, he spends his days providing Best in Class customer service at local manufacturing powerhouse Jagemann Stamping Company, where he is grateful they have provided him with the means to be able to pursue his passions without becoming a starving artist. |
Beyond the Forst Inn, he has performed with many local theatre companies over the years. You can next see him and his sister, the incredibly talented Dramatic Soprano Dr. Cassie Glaeser this upcoming Valentine’s Day when they perform some Opera and Pop-era with the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra! Much love to his family, and friends whose support means everything to him.

Tessa Komorowski Jindra (Ensemble) is thrilled to be part of Sweeney Todd! This marks her third Sondheim production, previously having been Amy in Company (2016) and the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (2015). She was most recently seen in Swing, where she also served as the choreographer. A longtime fan of Sweeney Todd, Tessa is excited to finally bring his dark and thrilling story to life on the Forst Inn stage. She is grateful to work alongside such a talented cast and crew. She loves sharing the stage with both longtime friends and new collaborators. The energy, creativity, and dedication of everyone involved is inspiring and she is proud to be part of this ensemble.
|
Tessa would like to thank her husband, Phillip and her mom and niece Lyrica for their constant love and support.
Don’t look now but Isn't that Sweeney there beside you?

Hannah Koechel (Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of her first Forst Inn production. She is excited to bring the horror and depth of this show to life. This cast and crew is so incredibly talented and she is honored to be apart of this production. Hannah has been involved with theatre since a young age and now takes on many roles both on stage and as a music director. She recently moved into her dream job teaching choir at Manitowoc Lincoln High School and lives in Manitowoc with her two cats, Stevie and Dolly. She would like to thank her friends and family for all their support through her whole life, she's kind of a hot mess and wouldn't make it without them. Hannah hopes you enjoy all the mischief, and maybe a meat pie!

Erin LaFond (Mrs. Lovett) is honored (albeit slightly intimidated) to take on the iconic role of Mrs. Lovett, which is most definitely in the top 3 most challenging characters, if not THE most challenging, she's ever attempted. Onstage, Erin's version of Mrs Lovett is a smart, manipulative, opportunistic narcissist. Off stage, she is a socially awkward, witchy, empath who would NEVER pop her pussies into pies! Some of Erin's favorite and notable credits include Elizabeth Benning (Young Frankenstein), Bea Bottom (Something Rotten), Cathy (Last 5 Years), Baker's Wife (Into the Woods), Princess Fiona (Shrek the Musical), Jesus (Godspell), Kate Keller (The Miracle Worker), and Margaret White (Carrie).
|
Erin has also directed, music directed, and choreographed various productions here at the Forst Inn, as well as with Masquers and Treehouse Theatre in Manitowoc, Sheboygan Theatre Company, and Memories Dinner Theatre in Port Washington. Erin would like to thank Michael and David for this opportunity, Chris for being a PHENOMENAL scene partner, and Jeff, Archer, Jasper, and Gary for their unconditional love and support. Always remember: All good things come to those who can wait....

Chris Mayse (Sweeney Todd) is appearing for the first time at the Forst Inn with this Sondheim classic. He has performed in a variety of venues across Wisconsin such as the Milwaukee Rep, Door Shakespeare, Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, Play-by-Play Theater, Abrams Spotlight Productions, and with his own non-profit, Atlas Theatre Company; serving as Atlas’ Founding Artistic Director. Some favorite roles have included Orin Scrivello (DDS) in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Amos Calloway in BIG FISH: THE MUSICAL, Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE, Lloyd Dallas in NOISES OFF, and the title character in the one-man event DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN.
|
Chris is also an accomplished director and designer, receiving critical acclaim for his productions of THE MEMORY OF WATER, EDMOND, SWEENEY TOOD, ANNA KARENINA, CLOSER, REEFER MADNESS: THE MUSICAL, and others. With Atlas, he has received a Footlight Award from the Seattle Times, a Best of Fringe Award from the Vegas Fringe Festival, and a Best Local Theatre Company nod from the Las Vegas Weekly. Chris thanks the cast, crew, and artistic team for their generosity and welcoming natures, as well as his wife, Meg, who allows him to run off and become a vengeful barber. Thank you for supporting live theatre!

Sailor McDonough (Tobias Ragg) Whether he’s singing on stage or quoting show tunes at home, Sailor brings boundless enthusiasm to every performance. He is thrilled—and perhaps a little awed—to step into the role of Tobias in Sweeney Todd for his first production at The Forst Inn, performing alongside such a talented cast. Previous credits include Hadestown (Ensemble, Ashwaubenon PAC), Newsies (Ensemble, Green Bay Southwest High School), and Willy Wonka (Mike Teevee, DaVinci School). Sailor extends heartfelt thanks to his voice teacher, Ben Olejniczak, and his choir teacher, Ms. Jenny Hanna, for their guidance and encouragement, as well as to his ever-supportive parents and siblings.

Corey McElroy (Judge Turpin) returns to the Forst Inn stage after portraying Torvald in A Doll’s House, a character who—like Judge Turpin—manipulates power dynamics to maintain control. Judge Turpin wields his authority with a far more brutal and unsettling edge. Taking on this role has been a deep dive into the darker corners of ambition and abuse.
A longtime Sondheim fan, Corey finds the composer’s music both challenging and deeply rewarding—each phrase demands precision, but offers emotional depth in return. Corey’s love for Sweeney Todd began in high school when his choir teacher introduced him to a video of the original Broadway cast. |
Since then, he’s been captivated by the show’s haunting beauty and Sondheim’s masterful storytelling, seeing Sweeney Todd live more times than any other production.
He’s grateful to be part of this talented cast and crew, and would like to thank Aubrey, Johannah, Phoenix, and Gizmo for their unwavering love and support. Attend the tale!

Jacob Puestow (Anthony Hope) is excited to be playing at the Forst Inn again in his first Stephen Sondheim show. It’s been a year since Puestow has returned to the stage, and to follow that with a Sondheim show is certainly an interesting pick up. Though not necessarily a complex character, playing Anthony has been a joy that provides a sort of youthful, dashing presence in an otherwise grim and plotting narrative. Puestow hopes he does honor in a great show by his favorite theater composer.
When he’s not on stage playing a role, Puestow can often be found on stage with other acts like the country band Brent Bel and the Boys. |
He’s also played and arranged pieces for the Lakeshore Jazz Band. For work, Puestow is a full-time reporter at the Valders Journal, writing articles and taking pictures of what’s going on in Manitowoc County.
Puestow would like to thank his supporting friends and family, the talented and diligent production team and pit orchestra, and Sondheim for creating one of his favorite musicals.
