"Alice by Heart" is a whimsical, heartwarming musical that reimagines the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. Set during World War II in a London bomb shelter, young Alice and her fellow evacuees escape their harsh reality through the fantastical world of Wonderland. With captivating songs, rich storytelling, and a fresh take on a beloved classic, Alice by Heart is a journey of hope, imagination, and resilience that will transport you into a world of wonder. Dive down the rabbit hole and experience the magic like never before!

This show is a PG-13 adaptation. The musical, which reimagines Alice in Wonderland through the lens of a World War II-era London schoolgirl, features darker themes such as loss, fear, and the power of imagination in the face of trauma. The story explores deep emotional journeys and tough situations, which could be challenging for younger viewers. There are also references to death and survival, as well as some darker, more intense moments.

Addison Fowler is stoked to be returning to the Forst Inn Stage in Alice By Heart! When she was originally cast as the Queen of Hearts/Red Cross Nurse, she was worried that she wouldn’t be able to pull it off, as she has never played the villain before. Characters she’s played previously all sit within the same realm of soft, lovely, and gentle soprano. The Queen of Hearts is mean, nasty, and unhinged; the complete opposite! This show has challenged Addison and pushed her to the limits by testing her range as an actress/performer. She is very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented production team and cast, and is incredibly impressed by how smoothly the rehearsal process went! She hopes that you enjoy the show and her take on The Queen of Hearts… and well, if not, OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!

Picture
Quintella Groothoff is so excited to make their debut on the Forst Inn stage as Dodgy/Duchess. While this may be their first time performing here, they have been a MASSIVE fan of Alice by Heart for years. The show's portrayal of the complex process of grief is something everyone can relate to. The fear of losing someone and the thought of forgetting them is terrifying, making us want to cling to every last part of them. However, acknowledging that everyone experiences grief can help us feel less alone. Now fall down the hole and enjoy this beautiful story!

Picture
Chloe Johanek is extremely excited to be playing the role of Alice Spencer! She has participated in one previous Forst Inn production, Fun Home. Chloe is absolutely in love with this show through every twist and turn of the path. She deeply empathizes with her character on her way to growing up and becoming her own person. This beautiful story filled with vulnerability and amazing visuals speaks to her on so many different levels that are incredibly difficult to put into words. She hopes you enjoy the adventure filled decent down the rabbit hole!

Picture
Phoenix McElroy is thrilled to be back on the Forst Inn stage, this time stepping into the role of Alfred. Having been a part of several past productions here including Mistletoe Musings and Curious Incident, Phoenix is excited to explore this unique and moving story of love and loss. He's looking forward to bringing Alfred's character to life and helping depict the path through moving on from a crucial relationship but never forgetting the great memories you made along the way. Phoenix is so overjoyed to work with such a great cast and production team. He hopes you'll be as touched by this show as he is, and that you enjoy the journey into this extraordinary world!

Picture
Karter Mueller is excited to unwind, and bring the character of the Caterpillar to life. He has done a great deal of shows out at The Forst Inn both on stage, and behind the scenes. One thing Karter is most looking forward to with this show is being able to be part of the story , and message that is brought forth in this production. He hopes that you walk away with a greater feeling of belonging, and love when you leave. Please sit back, relax , and jump down the rabbit hole with us as we dive into Wonderland. He hopes you enjoy!

Picture
Katie Naegele, returning for a 4th time on the Forst inn stage, is so excited to step into Wonderland and take on the roles of Clarissa and the Queen of Diamonds. The story of Alice has always been close to Katie’s heart, as she relates to the desire to escape reality, venture into a Wonderland, and discover herself while growing up. This twist on the classic story is gut-wrenchingly beautiful, and Katie hopes the themes of love, loss, and self-discovery resonate with you. She would like to thank everyone who helped bring this show to life and made it so meaningful. Now, please jump down the rabbit hole, don’t look back, and enjoy the story!

Picture
Sydney Rabas is returning to the Forst Inn stage after previously being in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Dog Sees God. She is excited to take a part in this ensemble lead journey through wonderland. She connects deeply with the message behind this story, and its importance. Sydney hopes that this productions portrayal of a girls grief while a significant person in her life dies touches your heart. Enjoy this roller coaster of emotions as we travel through the ups and downs of grief in wonderland!

Picture
Joey Simmons is performing for the first time at the Forst inn and is thrilled to be a part of a production at such a historic theater. He has deeply enjoyed participating in this unique take on the classic story by Lewis Carroll, especially exploring the connections between the people around Alice and the characters they become in Wonderland. Taking on the role of Harold and the Mad Hatter has been both deeply rewarding and challenging; made even better by working alongside incredibly talented directors, cast, and crew. He would also like to thank his family for all of their support, and hopes you enjoy the show.

Picture
Lydia Skarivoda is from the Green Bay area and has been performing in a variety of local shows. You might have seen her on stage previously at the Forst Inn, Green Bay Community Theatre, or in a park with Play by Play Theatre.
Having experienced grief in many forms, this show has lyrics that help put into words the complicated feelings surrounding moving forward after a loss.
"Nothing comes or goes without a shadow
Somewhere in the soul, you hold the candle
Let the sorrow go, it's half the battle"
This show not only tells the story of how stories and escapism can be a coping mechanism for grief, but it exists as an example of that as well.
She'd like to thank her friends, family, and partner for their unending support, and her cat Willow for helping her memorize her lines. Her performance is dedicated to her sister Erin and aunt Chris.

Picture
Asher Stokes is 23 years old and has been doing theater in the Manitowoc area for over a decade. Ash has always loved Alice and resonates with the fact that, no matter what version or twist of this tale that you find, Alice is always running from reality. So often we, as artists, use storytelling as a way to temporarily escape our own realities. Ash is both excited and honored to be a part of this cast and to help bring this twisted version of Alice to life. As always, he would like to thank Forst community for being a safe space for artists of all shapes and sizes. ~ we’re all mad here ~
