SHORT FILMS BY, FOR
AND ABOUT WOMEN

A FUNDRAISER FOR PAINTING PATHWAYS CLUBHOUSE OF MANITOWOC COUNTY
 WHAT IS LUNAFEST?
LUNAFEST is a traveling film festival of short films written, directed and about women.   In 2000,  LUNA started LUNAFEST - a traveling film festival celebrating, showcasing and championing women in film. The festival is a fundraiser held by any host who wants to raise funds for a local cause while supporting the main beneficiary - Chicken & Egg Pictures.
LUNAFEST is making a mark in the industry by creating a platform for women’s untold stories and working to increase opportunity for women filmmakers.

WHAT IS A SHORT FILM?
Short films vary in length from one minute to 20 minutes.  While short, these films are powerful, impactful and inspiring.  LUNAFEST is a screening of nine short films that have been selected from nationwide competition.   Running time (without intermission) for all nine films is 1 hour, 24 minutes.  To get an overview of the short films being presented this year, click here.

THIS IS A FUNDRAISER?
YES!!
All proceeds will go to Painting Pathways Clubhouse of Manitowoc County in memory of Sydney Meredith Egger.  Painting Clubhouse empowers adults with diagnosed mental illness in Manitowoc County by building community, supporting recovery, and changing lives.  With limited resources available for people suffering from mental illnesses in Manitowoc County and across the state and nation, we feel Painting Pathways is a shining beacon of light and offers effective, holistic programming for the community it serves.

I CAN'T ATTEND, CAN I STILL DONATE TO PAINTING PATHWAYS IN SYDNEY'S MEMORY?
YES!!
See the link below to donate or click here. (You may "Skip Login" if you prefer.)

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY TICKET?
Saturday is VIP night.  Tickets are $45 and include the screening, a raffle ticket , one drink ticket, a heavy appetizer buffet and dessert at intermission. (There will be some great raffle prizes!)  Sunday afternoon is a more casual screening, with snacks provided. Tickets are $20.  Staff of Painting Pathways will be taking over the Forst Inn Art Gallery and presenting artwork and crafts for sale.  Proceeds from both screenings and the art gallery sales will be donated to Painting Pathways. A cash bar will be open for both events. Sunday afternoon, stick around after the screening to hear blues singer/songwriter Cathy Grier perform in the pub from 4:00 - 7:00.

A CHAMPAGNE BUS???
YES!!
If you are coming from Manitowoc, you can take the Champagne Bus from Kathie's Stage Door Pub, 701 Franklin St.  The bus will make one run out to the Forst Inn and back for each screening of LUNAFEST.  Champagne and appetizers will be served on the return trip.  Cost is $20.  (Have someone drop you off and pick you up at Kathie's so you can relax and have a great evening!) Reserve your seat with the link below or stop down to Kathie's Stage Door Pub in person to buy your tickets for the combo bus/LUNAFEST ticket.

WHO IS PRESENTING THIS EVENT AND WHY?
This first annual event is being presented by The Sydney Meredith Memorial Fund.  Sydney was a creative young woman and a champion for women's rights who was passionate about the arts.  Sydney's life ended prematurely in 2016 due to mental illness.   Sydney was a production assistant on several feature films.  Both presenting LUNAFEST and donating to Painting Pathways are perfect ways to honor her memory.

WHO IS SPONSORING THIS EVENT?
Events like this wouldn't be possible without the support of our sponsors.

We are grateful to HOLY FAMILY MEMORIAL, the leading provider of mental health services in Manitowoc County, for being the Executive Film Producer for LUNAFEST.
