Fun Home - A MusicalA moving and poignant journey of self-discovery and love. Come and share this Tony Award winning musical with us!
When her father dies unexpectedly, graphic novelist Alison dives deep into her past to tell the story of the volatile, brilliant, one-of-a-kind man whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the family’s Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father’s hidden desires. Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. |

Meet the Ensemble
Chloe Johanek (Young Alison) is twelve years old and in seventh grade at Valders. This is her first production at the Forst Inn, but you may have seen her onstage with Treehouse Theater or The Masquers. When not preforming, Chloe enjoys playing the piano, guitar and alto saxophone. She crocheted her stuffed snake for the show but would never touch an actual dead mouse! Chloe would like to thank Jen Kasten, her family and her theater family for always supporting her. She hopes you are touched by this show.
Tessa Komorowski (Alison) is from the Manitowoc WI area and has been involved in many productions with Peter Quince Performing Company, Masquers, UW Manitowoc, and The Forst Inn. Some of Tessa's favorite roles include “Bakers Wife" In Into the Woods, “Rosie" in Mamma Mia, “Drowsy” in The Drowsy Chaperone, and “Olive” in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Tessa has choral directed for Quince's production of Seussical, choreographed for Lutheran High's production of Annie, Directed Godspell for Quince, Stage Managed/Tech directed I do I do along with a bunch of other wonderful opportunities she has been able to do.Tessa is always happy to be working along side such talented people.
Nancy Leigh (bassoon) plays bassoon, trombone, and baritone in several local music groups including Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, Lakeshore Big Band, and the Two Rivers Community Band. Nancy loves playing in pits and has been in 30 different shows to date! Her dream musical is to play trombone for Hadestown. She’s excited to be performing in another show with her son, Garrett.
Gertie Lotto (Jo) is enjoying her first major stage performance at The Forst Inn alongside her big brother Elliott. She is an enthusiastic musician with an interest in cello as well as trombone, and enjoyed being in the Green Bay Girl Choir for two years. Being homeschooled has allowed this 9 year old to pursue her many different passion projects, usually centering around art, including painting barn board signs, making earrings and knitting. She also very much enjoys her many animals including 3 donkeys, 2 goats, 3 dogs and many cats. She can frequently be found on the trampoline with her sister Gwen or helping her parents in their large garden or on some other part of their farm near Algoma.
Elliott Lotto (Christian) just wrapped up his first big performance at The Forst Inn as Billy Jr in On Golden Pond. He has enjoyed being on stage prior with 4 years performing in the Green Bay Boy Choir as well as being a part of the Algoma community musical. With a love of watching and being a part of performing arts, this 12 year old homeschooler has been raised on a small organic farm just outside of Algoma for the past 9 years and has 3 younger sisters he spends his days with. He can usually be found building, designing and dreaming up Lego sets and with equal enthusiasm will turn to drawing, sketching and planning several graphic novels. He also loves to be buried in a good book or enjoying teaching himself to cook and bake while also admiring all of the television chefs. He hopes to continue to grow and improve his performing arts skills.
Manitowoc native Sam Oswald (Roy) graduated from Lincoln High School in 2014 and studied Music at UW-Green Bay and UW-Eau Claire. Previous roles include Frank Abagnale Sr. In Lincoln high school’s production of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, as well as King Trition in Sheboygan TYA’s production of THE LITTLE MERMAID. Absent from the local arts scene for a few years, Sam is excited to get back into the swing of things as he takes the piano chair for Manitowoc’s LAKESHORE BIG BAND and as he takes the Forst Inn stage for the first time.
Patrick Schamburek (Bruce) is so excited to be involved in this production of Fun Home and he has enjoyed working with this extremely talented cast and crew. You may have seen Patrick in other Forst Inn productions of Hello Again and several Forst Inn Sings shows. Patrick has also been seen working with Masquers Inc., and UW Manitowoc theater. Patrick would like to thank Melissa, Jenna, Miley, and Brynn for their continued love and support.
Brittieny Simmer (Joan) is thrilled to be making their first appearance on The Forst Inn stage, and their return to the stage after more than a year, as Joan. They are proud to be part of a production that shares experiences and emotions that many queer people can relate to. "Ring of Keys" mirrors their own struggle with gender expression as a child and into adulthood. Britt's other recent appearances include Amos Calloway in Big Fish and ensemble roles in Mamma Mia, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Legally Blonde. When not attending rehearsals, Britt spends their time with their boyfriend, Andrew, and German Shepherd, Lacy, hiking, playing video games, and working on cosplay.
Fun Home marks Deanne Stoke's (Helen) return to the Forst Inn stage after a lengthy hiatus where her greatest production was her three beautiful, talented children. Deanne was last seen on the Forst Inn stage in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? -over the years playing Virginia, Becky, and Sister Monica Marie. More recently she played Donna in Masquers production of Mamma Mia. When not on stage, Deanne can be found behind the scenes directing, teaching, choreographing, and designing for LHS and Treehouse Theatre.
Ally Stokes (Middle Alison) is a 20 year old young adult with a passion for the performing arts. Although this is the first time Ally will be appearing in a Forest Inn production, she has participated in over 34 productions over the past 11 years. Ally is honored to have been given the chance to participate in a show that they can connect with on such a personal level.
