A rock and roll explosion of Shakespeare's epic tragedy. A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of madness and death.

He hopes you find this hell-born, fiendlike savagery satisfying not mortifying. To sate your fitful fixture on his qualifications here is a generous overview: He studied the theatrical arts and vocal music performance in the unquestionable academe of Lawrence University. Some critical exposure includes Chip in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Stokes in Carrie: The Musical, Clifford Bradshaw in Cabaret, and Phineas Wingfield in Anatomy of Gray. He is not unmusical and frequently arouses clangor on the keys of the piano. He recently enjoyed control as the director of Murder in Green Meadows. This is Phillip’s first-ever Shakespeare production, and he hopes you do not find his multitudinous misgivings mockable. He is happy to humor this engagement in the radiance of his wife, Tessa. If this pageantry be offenseless, please return anon to see Phillip in Mistletoe Musings. If you wish reprieve from this suffocating unsolicited roguery, don’t tell anyone! Can you find all of the words that were invented by Shakespeare??
This is Josiah Kaliq’s second stab at the role of Macbeth. His first came in a Play-by-Play Theatre production in the summer of 2023. He is thrilled to be taking the Forst Inn stage for the first time with such a rocking cast! He would like to thank his fiancé Morgan for her support and his daughter Willow for showing him how to, once again, use his imagination! He dedicates this performance to his long time friend. Get well soon B!
Shannon Paige is going for round 2 of Shakespeare having been the wall in Midsummer Night's Dream last summer. She has performed in various shows here at the Forst Inn & Masquers. But no role can ever be more important than serving up the CHEESECAKE to our lovely patrons. Hope you enjoy the show!
Carrie Counihan: “Tell me your desire, why you pulled me from the fire and we’ll seal the deal with a kiss.” Shakespeare or Rock n roll?
This production weaves the two together in a sexy exploration of Shakespeare’s epic tragedy! Lady Macbeth is usually described as manipulative, ruthless, evil and controlling. But I’m so grateful to our director Ross for pushing our limits as actors and for the opportunity to explore a different Lady M. One rooted in passion, love, desire, protection and a deep belief in her husband and all he can become. I have had the chance to bring many strong women characters to the stage at the Forst and this role has been at the top of my list for many years. I am thankful to Michael and the Forst Inn for allowing a safe place for artists to explore unique ways to bring traditional works to our region! “Give me your hand. What’s done cannot be undone.” Karter Mueller is so excited to take on his first Shakespeare show. Karter has done many shows out at the Forst Inn, but most recently could’ve been seen as a Phantom in The Rocky Horror Show , Beethoven in Dog Sees God, or Schroeder in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. This cast has made this show, and rehearsal process a fun experience, and he would like to thank them all for their hard work to make this show possible. He hopes you enjoy the show, and make sure to come back to check out the 2024 season out at The Forst Inn!
“For what is a man? What has he got? If not himself, then he has naught.” Shakespeare = Sinatra.
So many songs, so many words. Ross Dippel used to hate Shakespeare. When he was in high school his English teacher made him read JULIUS CAESAR. He didn’t understand it and he thought it was boring. Then he saw a production of KING LEAR at American Players Theatre and he changed his mind. Shakespeare is not meant to be read and imagined. It is meant to be heard and seen. Now Ross loves Shakespeare. Be like Ross. Go see Shakespeare live on stage. |

This is Darrick Brun's second appearance on the Forst stage this season. He appeared as Riff Raff in the recently finished production of the Rocky Horror Show. His last appearance in Shakespeare was as Hamlet in the 2022 Shakespeare in the park production at City Green in Sheboygan. Some of his other favorite roles include, but are not limited to - Dracula, Frank n Furter, Roat (Wait Until Dark), The Giant (Big Fish) Uncle Louie (Lost in Yonkers), Mayor Shinn, "Death" (Almighty Bob).
This will be Jerah Doxtator's first production with the Forst Inn. He has recently appeared as Lennox in Macbeth (Play-By-Play Theatre), Taylor in Cleverly and Comically (Cardboard Theaters Productions) and Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing (Play-By-Play Theatre). When not performing on stage Jerah can be found curled up with a book, playing an instrument, hunting down a leisurely hike or occasionally posting photography and poetry on Instagram (jerah.doxtator). He would like to thank everyone at the Forst Inn for welcoming him into their acting family and allowing him an opportunity to explore Shakespeare.
Hannah Otto is thrilled to be in her second show at The Forst this year. After a very successful run of Vagina Monologues where she was lucky enough to play two roles, she's very proud to have landed three roles in the coolest Shakespeare show anyone has ever seen. It's been a several year theatre hiatus for Hannah, so she would like to thank Kevin for dragging her back and reuniting her with her passion.
Lydia Skarivoda is from the Green Bay area and has been performing in a variety of local shows. Most recently, she's played a dream role of Cinderella in Into the Woods at the Forst Inn! Fun fact, this is the third 'Witch' she has played in the year of 2023. She'd like to thank her friends and family for their unending support, and her cat Willow for helping her memorize her lines.
Ash Stokes is a Manitowoc resident with a passion for the performing arts. He has been a part of more than 40 shows in his life. Shakespeare has been ever present most of their childhood, mainly thanks to their mother who teaches English literature. Ash’s biggest Shakespearean flex is that he still knows the entire balcony speech from Romeo and Juliet by heart for no good reason. Ash would like to thank The Forst Inn for continuing to create a safe space for himself and all other actors to to be their most authentic selves. They plan to return for the 2024 season and hope you all do the same!

Director's Note
In January of 1995 I was living in Seattle Washington. My friend Dan and I were watching football. (He
was a Bears fan but I didn’t hold it against him) He asked me if I had theatre plans for the summer. I
didn’t. He asked if I wanted to produce a play with him. I did. I borrowed $2,000 dollars from my
parents. Dan took $2,000 from his savings and we decided to produce MACBETH. We hired a director, a
fight choreographer named Bob MacDougal, and an Equity actress to play our lady. We rented a space
and held auditions. The show was a big hit. We sold out every night and we would have extended but
the space had another show coming in so we closed. We finished the run in the black and we used the
profits, a whopping $85, to buy a fresh salmon from Pike Place Market for the grill, and some Rolling
Rock beer to serve at the closing party. The friendships formed last to this day.
I’m feeling a sense of déjà vu.
In the summer of 2022, I was playing Oberon/Thesus in The Forst’s production of A MIDSUMMER
NIGHT’S DREAM. (With my daughter Isabella as Helena, don’t get me started) Michael and I would sit in
the lounge and talk, a lot. We talked about MACBETH. He asked me if I wanted to direct the play this
season. I did. I hope the show sells out every night. (Tell your friends!) I hope the show finishes in the
black and earns $85,000 for The Forst! I look forward to the closing night party. I feel the friendships
formed will last a long time.
I am grateful to Michael, and to the board of directors, for the opportunity to bring this play to you. I am
grateful to the cast for their willingness, their boundless talent, and their inspirational generosity. I am
grateful to you for coming out to support our production and I beg of you, the audience, to
continue/increase your support for this vital arts organization.
THANK YOU
