A poignant comedy-drama by Robert Harling.
The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, ("I’m not crazy, I’ve just been in a bad mood for forty years"); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad. The Ensemble

Emilee E. Carrol (M’Lynn Eatenton): Emilee is thrilled to be back to her dramatic roots, after a 10+ year hiatus of playing non-comedic roles. You may have seen her gracing the Forst Inn stage recently as Granny/Cinderella’s Mother in Into the Woods or as Eddie/Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show. Other favorite roles include Guildenstern in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Marquise de Merteuil in Dangerous Liaisons, Susan in Company, and many ensemble roles in various musicals. Emilee enjoys true crime, 90s/00s pop culture, Asst. House Managing here at the Forst, and all things to do with the hit Fox TV show Glee. She would like to thank her husband, Brandon, for always believing in her dreams (no matter how crazy!) as well as her family and friends for their ongoing support. Special shout out to the cast and crew of this production – it has been an honor to work alongside such talent! “You have no idea how wonderful you are…”

Claran LaViolette (Ouiser Boudreaux) Coming off a 2-time stint as Ebeneezer Scrooge in The Forst Inn's Mistletoe Musings Christmas Carol, Claran has delightedly been awarded the role of Ouiser Boudreaux in this production of Steel Magnolias. (Seems she is destined to play curmudgeonly old folks, which she doesn't mind one bit!) Also serving as the Forst's resident costumer, board member, and a proud contributor to the Forst Inn Fab Fam, Claran has even directed a few shows here (Savannah Sipping Society, Miracle on South Division Street, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and 2 one acts) and hopes to do more in the future.

Heather Love (Truvy Jones) is thrilled to be part of Steel Magnolias! It’s such a great show…and what an amazing cast and crew! After taking a 9+ year break from acting, Heather is thankful for the opportunities she’s had the last few years to start living out her passion again…and to continue growing as an actor. Some of her favorite recent roles include Yvette in Clue, Mother in A Christmas Story, and Oolie/Donna in City of Angels. She’s also been able to try her hand in directing one-acts the last two years at the Tisch Mills Fringe Festival here at the Forst…which is a really cool event (you should definitely check it out next year). It’s been a blast learning a new skill.
Heather is excited to be returning to the Forst stage and hopes you enjoy the show! As Michael would say…if you don’t like it, don’t tell anyone. But as Truvy would say…if you don’t like it, “walk on your lips to avoid criticizing anyone”. lol! Thank you for coming! And thank you to my family for supporting my crazy schedule and encouraging me to do what I love!

Shannon Paige - (Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie) is honored to be playing Shelby in this beautiful story. Highlighted Forst Inn roles include Jeri Neal in Dixie Swimclub, The wall in Midsummer Nights Dream, Norma in Carrie the Musical, Joan in Murder in Green Meadows, Ross in MacBeth, and an OG of the Mistletoe Musings. Shannon also serves as our House Manager and would like to thank John Stangle and Michael Sheeks for all the new exciting changes that have happened on stage and in the kitchen. Enjoy the show!

Sara Schaller (Clairee Belcher) is beyond thrilled to make her Forst Inn stage debut. Though she isn't new to the theater, this is her first time onstage for many years and she feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to step out of her comfort zone and perform. Sara is no stranger to the Forst, having costumed designed and assisted with set painting for a few of the previous productions. She has also been involved with many shows with various different companies including Treehouse Theater, Dare to Dream, Masquers, and Capitol Shows. Her biggest contribution to the arts has been costume design, having designed for dozens of shows over the years. Sara would like to her husband Marty and her daughter Em for all their love and support

Megan Schauer (Annelle Dupuy-Desoto) is delighted to be returning to the Forst Inn stage with these wonderful ladies by her side. She has performed in over sixty plays and musicals since the age of six and she does not plan on stopping any time soon. Performing has always been a driving force in her life. Her favorite roles in recent years include Vera/Evil Tina in She Kills Monsters (2022), Uzo in Godspell(2023), and CB’s Sister in Dog Sees God (2023). When she isn’t on the stage, she can be found crocheting, snuggling with her pets, and haunting the grounds with her boyfriend, Ryker, at Terror on the Fox in Green Bay. She would like to thank her family and Ryker for their constant support and encouragement as she continues to pursue her childhood dreams
